Connect Equipment: Rockwood, Ontario

In 1953 Walter Swanston was told by his neighbours that he was foolish to start a farm equipment dealership in an area with too much competition. Over the next 15 years a variety of lines were brought in to accommodate the demand of the local farmers. In 1966 Alex Lush was going to work part time for one year for his cousin Walter on the farm and in the dealership. In 1968 Alex became partner. 1988 brought more change as Alex and Linda Lush became sole owners. In the mid 1990's Alex's sons Brent and Steve became shareholders. As the years go on, Swanston Farm Equipment continued to grow and change with the times but the hospitable and friendly atmosphere still remains the same.
